Phil's southern fried chicken

With the fast-food chain KFC shutting several its outlets over the UK after they came up short on chicken, Colonel Phil is here with his option handcrafted deal container!.


Ingredients

  • eight huge bird thighs, bone in and pores and skin off
  • 220mls buttermilk 
  • 1 stage tbsp desk salt
  • 2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 2 tsp floor white pepper
  • 1-degree tsp cayenne pepper
  • 225g simple flour
  • four medium eggs
  • 150ml bloodless water, about
  • Sunflower oil, to fry

method

  1. Place the chicken legs into a bowl and include the buttermilk or yogurt and salt and blend well, leave for 1 hour or in a perfect world, leave overnight.
  2. Preheat the oven to 220°C fuel 6.
  3. Place the oregano, thyme, cumin, peppers, and flour into a medium bowl and blend well.
  4. Whisk the eggs collectively with the water.
  5. Remove the chicken thighs from the buttermilk and wipe off the abundance. Place the extra buttermilk into eggs and water and whisk well. 
  6. Dip every thigh into the flour and spice aggregate to gently dirt, cast off from the flour and area on one aspect.
  7. Then dip every piece of floured chook inside the egg combination, shake off any extra then positioned again into the flour combination to coat - it’s pleasant to do that degree one piece at a time, in any other case you’ll get very messy!.

  11. Bake in the oven for approximately 15-20 mins, or till the bird is cooked thru.
  12. The smell will be really tempting, but try to resist because they’ll burn your mouth if you eat them straight away!.

Ingredients

  • ¼ white cabbage sliced actually finely
  • ¼ pink cabbage, sliced clearly finely
  • 1 huge carrot, sliced honestly finely
  • 1 huge onion, very finely sliced at the diagonal
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Ground pepper

Method

  1. Combine the slashed vegetables well. 
  2. Blend the mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, and pepper together and add to the veg. 
  3. Blend and leave for 30 minutes before serving.
